Our Story

After graduating from the University of Notre Dame in 1981 with a degree in American Studies, our Founder & President Joe Conroy, followed his passion for travel, American history & culture and began his career tour directing for a Chicago-based tour operator. In 1988, Joe Conroy founded his first company, American Classic Tours, leading travelers from the United States on tours across the United States. For over 35 years, Joe and his team at American Classic Tours have crafted hundreds itineraries to just about every imaginable destination in the USA, helping thousands of travelers make their dreams a reality.

Desiring to share his passion for American travel with travelers from across the world, Joe launched Tour America, a new brand focused exclusively on creating tailor made itineraries for incoming leisure travel groups and tour operators from around the world.
